| Some of my cook book collection now topping out at about 120...ooops! |
I love it. It's my next favourite after Ministry of Food. I love the layout in menus. I love the cheat tips like boiling the kettle and using processors etc. In fact, this book is a perfect partner to the Thermie as most dishes use a blender or processor. What more could you ask from a cook book? So far the big winner here is the Chicken Pie with Carrot Mash. It's utterly delicious - I've made it twice. I have also made the broccoli orichetti, which is a fab use of Thermie = you make your sauce by blitzing the stalks of the broccoli and broccolini. I have tried the dark cherry brownie - also using Thermie. I have tried the Jerk Chicken. What else? A bunch of stuff! Very usable!
However, a word to the wise, you need your own herb garden as all the recipes call for lots of herbs and I am very happy to say I can pop out my back door for all but coriander (which runs straight to seed when I attempt to grow it). I think it would be pricey here in Aus to be buying bunches of herbs for every meal. I also battle to make some of the meals in 30 minutes...I think it may be because I am stopping to tie laces, listen to reading, sign reading diaries, fish out pocket money for school banking, charging my laptop (after finding the cable), playing Words With Friends and trying to keep a handle on my burgeoning paper-work mountain. All whilst trying to have that 'How was your day dear' convo with the hubster. Anyway...
I will endeavour to photograph some of the meals I make from this book soon, I have a new camera at long last.
Yours in positive Jamie reviews,

I can't wait to see the Cherry Brownie. I'm salivating at the thought. Brownie is a bit of a Pavlov's dog word for me.
